MENS - MAIN EVENTS
The following main events are open to 18 hole, Intermediate and Junior Elite Members.
Tournament pass is required for some competitions.
CLUB STROKE PLAY CHAMPIONSHIPS
- The Stroke Play Championships are over 54 holes – gross within the division.
- Entry to the Open Grade is available to all Full Playing Members and Junior Elite Members. Junior Intermediate Members may apply to the Match Committee requesting approval to play in the Open Grade field.
- On-line entry is required via our website, remueragolfclub.com. Login using your membership number and password. Under the Membership tab – enter the appropriate grade.
- Grades:
Open – Blue Tees (Course Handicap 5.3 or less)
Intermediate – Blue Tees (Course Handicap 5.4 – 10.9)
Junior – White Tees (Course Handicap 11.0 – 16.4)
C and D Grade – White Tees (Course Handicap 16.5+)
Ties for the winners in all grades will be decided by “sudden death” play-off from the 1st tee.

CLUB MATCH PLAY CHAMPIONSHIPS
- Qualifying for the Match Play Championships is over 36 holes gross on consecutive Saturdays.

- The top 16 players in each division qualify for the Match Play Championships.
- Ties in qualifying for the last position(s) in the final are decided by sudden-death play from the 1st tee.
- All matches are over 18 holes (except the final) – “off-the-stick”.
- Open and Intermediate finals are over 36 holes – “off-the-stick”; Junior, C & D grade finals are over 18 holes – “off-the-stick”.

BOOTH CUP
- There are 4 qualifying rounds of 18 holes.
- The scheduling of the rounds as follows – one each in summer, autumn, winter and spring conditions. The 4 qualifying rounds will be played off the club (white) tees and the final over 36 holes will also be played off the club (white) tees.
- In each round the best gross and the 2 best net scores will qualify for the final.
- Having qualified a player is ineligible for subsequent round prizes.
- At least 2 completed round score cards must be returned to be eligible for the Final. A round in which a player has been disqualified or Did Not Finish will not count as a qualifying round.
- Only those players who have completed 2 or 3 rounds are eligible to win prizes in the 4th
- A completed gross score must be returned for each hole played.
- The Final, completed by 12 players over 36 holes. The gross qualifiers will be the first 4 players. The net qualifiers will then be sequenced from lowest to highest handicaps in the 2nd and 3rd
- The final is net medal. Ties for the winner to be decided by “sudden death” play off from the 1st tee, under net medal conditions.
CAPTAIN’S PRIZE
- One round of qualifying – Net Medal (white tees).
- The best 32 rounds of net medal qualify for the Captain’s Prize Match Play.
- Match Play on handicap over 18 holes (white tees).
- Final is over 36 holes (white tees).
- Match Play ties decided by “sudden-death” from the 1st
GENERAL MANAGER’S PRIZE
- This will be played on the final Saturday of the playing season in conjunction with Awards Day.
- All trophy winners during the calendar year will be eligible to compete for the General Manager’s Prize.
- The competition will be net medal from the white tees.
- Countback will be decided by the net score on holes 10-18, and then by lot.
PRESIDENT’S FOURSOMES
- Choose your own partners.
- Entry required on the entry sheet in the Men’s Locker Room.
- Played over 36 holes in one day on Stableford.
- Prize for 1st, 2nd and 3rd overall.
- Prizes for best morning and best afternoon round.
- One prize per team of the highest value.
REMUERA PLATE
- Choose your own team of 4 players.
- Entry required on the entry sheet in the Men’s Locker Room.
- Played over 2 rounds on consecutive Saturdays.
- Best 3 Stableford scores to count on each hole towards the team’s aggregate score in each round.
- Prizes for 1st, 2nd and 3rd.
- Prizes for best 1st and best 2nd round.
- One prize per team of the highest value.
- Ties to be based on holes 10-18 in the final round.
WAIATARUA TROPHY
- Entry required via our web site – www.remueragolfclub.com. Login using your membership number and password. Under the Membership tab, enter the event.
- Drawn partners based on a split field of high and low handicaps determined on the median of the handicaps from the entry sheet.
- A combined stableford event over 36 holes on consecutive Saturdays.
- Prizes for 1st, 2nd and 3rd.
- Prizes for best 1st and best 2nd round.
- One prize per team of the highest value.
- Ties to be based on holes 10-18 in the final round.
WINTER CUP
- Qualifying over 18 holes on net medal on the white tees.
- Top 16 scores on net medal qualify for match play on handicap.
- The final is over 18 holes (white tees).
SUMMER CUP
- 5 available rounds of stableford stroke play from the beginning of January to the beginning of February on the designated Saturdays.
- Entry on each day of play with the best 3 stableford scores counting.
- Play from the blue tees.
- Ties decided by countback on holes 10-18 for the players’ final counting round. Should further countback be needed it will be holes 1-18 of the players’ final counting round. If further countback is required the players’ 2nd counting round will be used, holes 10-18 & then 1-18.
JACK NOTMAN TROPHY & FRATERNITY BOWL
- Jack Notman Trophy – net medal over 18 holes.
- Jack Notman Trophy is the qualifying round for the Fraternity Bowl. To be eligible to win the Jack Notman Trophy, the player must be available to play in the Fraternity Bowl.
- The Fraternity Bowl is played over 18 holes on Stableford.
ANZAC DAY AMBROSE
- Choose your own teams of 4 players.
- The first 36 teams entered via the entry sheet in the Golf Shop will comprise the field.
- The competition is net medal.
- Shot gun start at 12.30pm.
- The team handicap is the total handicap of the 4 players divided by a factor as advised on the competition sheet for the day.
- Countback for ties is decided on the lowest score over holes 10-18 inclusive and then by lot.
DAVIE McGUIRE TROPHY
- Choose your own pairs and entry on the sheet in the Men’s Locker Room.
- Pairs Combined Stableford
- Shot Gun start at 12.30pm
- Open to all Full Playing Members and Weekday Men Members. The field is limited to 34 teams with preference to Full Playing Members.
ECLECTIC COMPETITON
- A competition that will run each Wednesday that the full course is played throughout the year.
- Entry available to all Full Playing Members in the first month once the competition starts
- The lowest score is recorded on each hole producing a low 18-hole score
- A Gross and Net Competition calculated after the last Wednesday that the full course is played
- The Net competition is calculated using ½ of the handicap at the conclusion of the competition. This is deducted from the gross score to produce the net result
- An up-to-date gross and net leaderboard is available in the competition section of the DotGolf website.
MENS – MAIN EVENTS - MID WEEK
The following events are scheduled primarily for Weekday Men, although other 18 Hole Men may also take part.
MID WEEK CAPTAIN’S PRIZE
- Entry on the day of the Qualifying Round.
- Qualifying Round of 18 holes – Net Medal.
- 32 Qualifiers.
- Match Play on handicap.
- Final over 18 Holes. No ties.
MID WEEK PRESIDENT’S PRIZE
- Pairs competition – entry on the day of the Qualifying Round.
- Choose your own partners. They must play together in the Qualifying round.
- Qualifying Round on Combined Net.
- 16 Pairs to qualify for Match Play.
- Match Play on Combined Net on each hole.
- Final over 18 Holes.
VETERANS CUP SPONSORED BY ST. ANDREWS VILLAGE
- A competition for members over 60 years of age on the Qualifying round.
- Entry on the day of the qualifying round.
- Qualifying round of 18 holes – Net Medal.
- 16 players qualify for Match Play.
- Match Play on handicap.
- Final over 18 holes.
GOLDEN OLDIES
- Open to all Full Playing, Weekday and Veteran Members in 3 Divisions:
– Age under 70
– Age 70 to 79
– Age 80 +
- Entry on the Day.
- Played over 18 Holes – Stableford.
ECLECTIC COMPETITION

JUBILEE STROKE PLAY CHAMPIONSHIPS
- 54 holes gross stroke play
- Played over three days (Tuesday, Thursday, Tuesday) 18 holes each day
- Played in divisions.
CLUB MATCH PLAY CHAMPIONSHIPS
- Qualifying round of 18 holes gross stroke play
- Gross match play, all rounds over 18 holes
- Played in divisions
- Played on Tuesdays and Thursdays
- Tournament Pass required.
LGU (TERMS SET BY NZG)
- Net stroke play
- Eight plus rounds a year
- Each round played on Tuesday and Saturday
- Played in divisions
- Best four rounds played within a division count
- NZG LGU medal awarded to the winner of each division.
GOLD BUTTON AND CONSOLATION NET
- Net stroke play over 18 holes
- Played on Tuesday and Saturday
- Winners of all LGU rounds during the year play for the Gold Button
- All other players play for Consolation Net.
HOMELINKS STROKE PLAY EVENTS (TERMS SET BY NZG)
- Played in conjunction with an LGU
- Gross and net stroke play
- Scores for best gross, best net silver division, best net overall and best net over 70 years submitted to NZG.
HOMELINKS NANCY MACCORMICK MEMORIAL FOURSOMES (TERMS SET BY NZG)
- Foursomes handicap stroke play over 36 holes
- Played over two days (Tuesday and Thursday)
- Results submitted to NZG.

AUTUMN/SPRING HANDICAP
- Four-ball match play
- Drawn partners
- Played in two divisions
- Draw seeded on handicap.

- Stroke play, scoring against par

- Open to players aged 65+ on 1 February of the current year

- Players organize their own matches.

- Four rounds of variations of Greensomes
- Handicap stroke play
- Choose own partner
- Points awarded to the players with the top eight scores in each round (points awarded in descending order eight, seven, six etc.)
- Do not have to play all four rounds.
WINTER FOURSOMES
- Two rounds of variations of Foursomes
- Handicap stroke play
- Choose own partner
- Best net over 36 holes.

MIXED EVENTS
These events are open to members who have playing rights on the day on which the event is played. Single players wishing to play in mixed events and requiring a partner should advise the Match Committee so that a playing partner may be arranged.
